CSA and the Organic Movement: What’s (in) the Share?

  • Look at CSA share:
    • what is the CSA contribution to international and local food systems and policies?
    • How do we use CSF and CSA census data to advocate for the movement?
  • Offer opportunity/landmark for exchange
Expected Outcomes:
  • Use discussions on the worldwide CSA and CSF census to build new contacts and working relationships
  • Share results of the 2020 census with stakeholders in the organic movement
  • Continue to strengthen the IFOAM and URGENCI partnership
  • A list of actions for CSA advocates to take home – this list will be based on experience gained and contain actions to develop CSA capacity building programs
  • Post-event online dissemination effort via social media and URGENCI website articles
  • Presentation of pre-conference outcomes at main conference during workshop and fishbowl session
  • Day 1: in the field – visit to 2-3 CSA farms and, if possible, a visit to a Community Supported Fishery
  • Day 2: Opening plenary session, presentation of census results, poster gallery, additional presentations and small group discussions, collective brainstorming, closing speech
